Hollie & Brandon | A Cozy Family Session at Home in the Winter

There’s something so special about photographing families in their own space—it feels slower, more intentional, and way more personal. Hollie and Brandon invited me into their beautifully renovated home for a winter family session, and honestly, it felt like walking into a hug. Their three-year-old daughter, Glory, came right up and gave me the warmest welcome (seriously—her energy is the kind that instantly lights up a room), and sweet baby Zelie was all smiles from the get-go.

Every detail of this session came together so effortlessly. The way their outfits were thoughtfully styled to complement the soft, earthy tones of their home—the kind of palette that makes my designer brain do a happy dance. Their space wasn’t just pretty, though. It felt lived-in and full of heart, which made it the perfect backdrop for this season of their life. We didn’t need to over-direct or stage anything—just let them be together, play, cuddle, and share in the quiet, beautiful chaos of life with two little ones.

In-home family photography is my favorite for a reason. It gives space for the natural, unfiltered moments that are so worth remembering. If you’re looking for a relaxed, meaningful way to capture your family—especially during these cozy months—an at-home session in the Durham Region might be just what you’re after. Let’s document the real stuff—the stuff that matters most.
